MSA Vertical Engineered Systems Installer Aluminum Ladder
MSA Vertical System Installer Training courses are designed for those individuals who will be installing, examining, certifying and using Vertical Systems. These arrest systems are used in conjunction with a fall arrest rated, full body harness and an MSA Guided Type Fall Arrester (GTFA) devise. These systems vary in design and specification dependent on the concept of employment. Training modules are delivered specially within employment range, industrial ladder, GWO Wind Turbines (Aluminum ladder ), Tele-comms and Transmission industry.

Student delegates, will be subject to both theory and practical assessment on the below listed objectives, in accordance with the MSA Course Assessment Strategy (CAS).

Course Objectives:
Install, Certify and Maintain MSA Vertical Ladder Systems.
· Understand the concept of use for all vertical systems in our product range.
· Confirm the structural requirements for fixing vertical ladder systems are met.
· Confirm the recommended angle for installation does not exceed 15 degrees.
· Brief the required personnel on the health and safety plan.
· Confirm all system components are present and serviceable.
· Identify and use as required the correct tooling for installation.
· Perform a swage task on the top anchor of a vertical ladder system.
· Operate the safety lifeline tester to confirm the integrity of a swaged component to a given standard.
Install an MSA vertical system to a steel ladder.
· Install a Latchways vertical system to a steel round rung ladder.
· Install a Latchways vertical system to a steel square rung ladder.
· Install a Latchways vertical system to a steel diamond rung ladder.
· Install a Latchways vertical system to a flat stringer ladder.
· Install a Latchways vertical system to a Circular Hollow Section (CHS) ladder.
Use an MSA Guided Type Fall Arrest (GTFA) Device as part of a vertical Ladder system.
· Understand the concept of use and concept of employment of a GTFA LadderLatch device.
· Perform a horizontal system (Flexible Anchor Line) check prior to attaching your mobile anchor point.
· Use a mobile anchor point on a compatible horizontal system (flexible Anchor Line).
Perform a post installation/annual recertification inspection on a vertical system.
· Perform pre-climbing checks prior to ascending the system.
· Perform detailed system inspection.
· Complete the safe to climb certification of your findings.
